A body of a four-year-old girl was found in a well in Heera Nagar Police Station area of Indore on Monday. According to reports, the girl was abducted on Sunday night while she was sleeping with her parents. The father of the girl found the minor missing when he woke up in the night to drink water. The family tried their best to find the girl but in vain. Later, the parents reported the incident to police.
Cops started search operation in the morning and also scanned the CCTV footages of the area. A few hours later, police found clothes of the girl in farmland close to her residence. During the intense search, cops found her body in a well.
"She was raped and killed and her body disposed of in a deep well here. We believe it was done by someone known to the family. The slum cluster has 36 homes and we are questioning people from the locality," Senior Superintendent of Police RV Mishra said.
“Body of the girl was found in a well. Some wounds were found on her body but the exact reason for her death would be clear after the post-mortem. It will be early to comment that she was raped and murdered,” the SSP was quoted as saying by some reports.
