Telangana: Another Woman Charred To Death In Same Locality Where Veterinarian Was Killed

A day after the gruesome murder of the 27-year-old veterinarian in Telangana’s Shamshabad area, the police on Friday found charred body of another woman from the same locality in the outskirts of Hyderabad. "The body was found in an open area on the outskirts of Shamshabad. It is being moved to a government hospital for autopsy, and a case is being registered," Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanagar said.

The body was found in the charred state just few kilometers away from the spot where the veterinarian was killed on Wednesday night. However, it was not clear at the state whether the two murders were connected to each other. The body of the second women was found in a naked state and the police as trying to ascertain if she sexually assaulted before being killed.

Assistant Police Commissioner, Ashok Kumar Goud, said some passersby noticed the burnt body and informed them. Police personnel were rushed to the spot who sent the body to a state-run hospital for post-mortem.

"Body of an unknown woman, aged about 30-35 years, is found near Siddulagutta Temple road. Four persons noticed that a owman was self-immolating herslef and called two others to help put out the fire. Dial 100 call received at 8:30 pm and a police team and patrol vehicle reached the spot. The body has been shifted to a hospital and a case under 174 suspicious death has been registered," the police said in a statement.

Earlier on Wednesday, a women in her 20s, who used to work as an assistant veterinarian at a state-run hospital went missing. Next morning her body was found near an underpass in Shamshabad. As soon as the case was registered, the Hyderabad Police formed 10 teams to investigate the matter. So far, the Hyderabad police has arrested four accused involved in the alleged rape and murder case of a woman veterinary doctor.

Police suspect that the victim, working as an assistant veterinarian at a state-run hospital, was killed near Tondupally toll plaza of Outer Ring Road at Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad and her body was dumped and burnt 25 km away at Chatanpally bridge near Shadnagar town in Ranga Reddy district. The body was noticed by some passers-by who alerted police.

According to reports, the woman, an assistant veterinarian at a state-run hospital, was on her way home in Hyderabad when she was allegedly abducted and burnt alive by unidentified persons late on Wednesday. Before going incommunicado, the doctor had called her sister and informed that her scooter got punctured near a toll plaza, where she had parked it.

She asked her to stay on call as an unknown person asked her to help. She reportedly told the man that she was fine on her own, he insisted on helping her. "You please keep talking until my scooter comes back. They [the strangers] are all waiting outside. You please keep talking to me, I am scared," The News Minute quoted the doctor as telling her sister on phone at around 9:44 pm on Wednesday.

She then hung her phone, saying that she will call back. However, after waiting for her call till 10:30, the concerned sister called her but her phone was switched off. Next day, the police found her charred body from a nearby underpass. The police has suspected rape before being burnt to death but it could not be confrmed.
