New Delhi:

CBSE Class 10th board exam 2020: CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is going to conduct two different examinations for the Mathematics paper for class 10th board exam from the academic session 2020. The first paper will be Basic Mathematics and the second paper will be Standard Mathematics. This will allow candidates to choose one of these papers according to their potential and ability. Candidates need to select the course preference at the time of filling the registration form.

In the meantime, candidates who choose Basic Mathematics paper instead of Standard Maths paper will not be allowed to take Maths as a subject in class 11th. Nevertheless, candidates can take maths in class 11th only if they pass the Maths compartmental exam of class 10. This option is available for students provided they pass the basic maths exam at first.

The class 10th board exam registration form will have an option wherein candidates need to choose the respective maths paper. It is to note that candidates must fill the form cautiously as they will not be allowed in further changes once the form is submitted. As per the board, students who have opted for basic maths in class 10th will not be allowed to take maths in class 12. However, if a student performs well in the basic maths paper and want to take maths in class 12, he/she will have to take the maths compartmental exam that will be conducted in July next year.

Importantly, the syllabus of both the papers (Basic and Standard) will remain the same, however, some changes in the difficulty level of both the papers will be done. It is obvious to note that Basic Maths paper will be comparatively easier than Standard Maths paper.
