Amid the undying fire of #MeToo movement against male predators and its impact in India, a new novel quietly covers the other side of darkness - crime committed by women in India. Crime cases in India are probably more than it is being reported and it continues to rise unabated. In fact, Delhi is known as the crime capital in the country. While the crime cases are mostly reported as committed by men, a new novel by author Ajinkya Bhasme - When the Devil Whispers - highlight crime committed by women in the country.

The book is said to be inspired by true crime events and the story woven around the “mysterious kidnapping” of young Shalini by a group of women. A “heady mix of mystery and psychological horror”, the story reveals kidnapping of children aged between six months and 12 years and mass murder. More than 17 children are killed for vested interest.

The novel appears to underline the hidden yet rampant criminal elements and the horrifying extent they could go to just to fulfill the devilish desire of human nature and the emotional complexities that are involved.
The women characters in the book undergoes psychological turbulence, guilt ridden conscious and their struggle to survive when the Devil whispers.

The psychological horror and crime thriller- When the Devil Whispers - by Ajinkya Bhasme, IIT Bombay graduate, was launched in Mumbai recently. Earlier, he brought out Boo in the Well of Dangers.
