New Delhi:

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 exam has been rescheduled to avoid clash with Lok Sabha elections. The exam will now be conducted on 26th May 2019. As per the official notification, CLAT 2019 exam was scheduled to be held on 12th May 2019 which coincided with the Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha Election 2019. Hence, to avoid the clash, the exam will now take place on 26 May, 2019 in offline mode in the afternoon slot i.e. between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

This decision was taken at a CLAT Consortium meeting on 18th March 2019 – Monday, as per Jagran Josh reports. The CLAT Consortium has also decided to extend the application deadline for the Law Entrance Exam by two weeks. The CLAT 2019 application deadline has been extended till April 15. Earlier, the last date to register for CLAT 2019 was March 31, 2019.

Here’s how to register for CLAT 2019:

Step 1: Go to the official website – clat.ac.in and click on ‘apply online’

Step 2: Register by using your e-mail ID and mobile number. An e-mail ID is required to register for CLAT 2019.

Step 3: A provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system.

Step 4: An email and SMS indicating the provisional registration number and password will be sent.

Step 5: Use this number and password to log in to fill the online application

Step 6: Take a print out of all the important documents for future convenience.

CLAT 2019 exam pattern:

UG Programme: The CLAT 2019 examination for Undergraduate (UG) courses consists of 200 Multiple-Choice Questions of one mark each. Each incorrect response will result in deduction of 0.25 mark. The 200 marks examination covers areas like English including comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning and will be held for two hours.

PG Programme: Like the Undergraduate programme, this two-hour-long examination will carry a total of 150 questions of one mark each. There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
