India is gearing up for general elections to select its leader and with the announcement of Lok Sabha polls 2019 schedule by the Election Commission, several Universities and authorities across the country have changed the schedule of their entrance examinations. The Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be held in seven phases starting from April 11. Several entrance examinations have been postponed as their dates were clashing with the general elections.
Below is the list of upcoming entrance examinations which the authorities have postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections:
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) for the admission in the IITs, which was scheduled to be held between April 7 and 20, has been rescheduled due to the Lok Sabha elections. As per the latest schedule, the JEE-Main exam Paper-II (BArch/B Planning) will be held on April 7. The JEE-Main exam Paper-I (BE/BTech) will be held on April 8,9,10 and 12.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has also postponed the Chartered Accountant (CA) examinations in wake of the Lok Sabha elections. According to the latest schedule, the CA examination will now be conducted from May 2, 2019- May 17, 2019, to May 27, 2019, to June 12, 2019, at 144 centers across India. The exam will also be held at five foreign locations.
Karnataka CET 2019
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has also changed the date of Common Entrance Test-2019 for the admissions in semester engineering, technology, Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry and other courses. The Karnataka CET 2019 examination will now be held on April 29, 30 instead of April 23 and 24.
The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh has also rescheduled the polytechnic entrance exam. The exam will now be held on May 26 instead of April 28.
Mumbai University, Marathwada University
The Mumbai University and Marathwada University also decided to change the schedule of their entrance examinations. The final date is yet to be decided by the University authorities.
