In the class 10 result declared by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Tuesday (June 26) on biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in, biharboard.ac.in, Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (SAV) in Simultala town in Jamui district, grabbed the top four positions.

Prerna Raj who scored 457 marks (91.4 per cent) was announced the topper of BSEB 10th Result 2018. The second rank was shared by Pragya and Shikha Kumari who scored 454 marks (90.8 per cent) and the Third rank holder was Anupriya Kumari with 452 marks (90.4 per cent).

According to officials, of 23 state toppers, 16 are from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya.

The pass percentage in Bihar Board Class 10 results, has increased dramatically this year with 68.89 per cent passing as opposed to 50.12% pass percentage of 2017.

A total of 17,58,797 students had written their Class 10 board examination.

The board said 189,326 students passed in the first division, 663,884 in the second and 357,103 got the third division, adding 1,304 students will have to reappear in the exams.

Board chairperson Anand Kishor said the increase in the passing percentage can be attributed to the change in the pattern, digitisation of the exam process, OMR sheets and the introduction of 50% objective questions.

The class 10 examination was held between February 21 and 28 in over 1,426 centres in Bihar.
