The Board of Secondary Education, Assam or SEBA released the Assam HSLC Result 2019 on May 15, 2019, at 9 am. The overall pass percentage of Assam HSLC Results stood at 60.23%. While boys secured a pass percentage of 62.69%, girls got a pass percentage of 57.99%. The pass percentage of SEBA Class 10th 2018 was 56.04 percent.
A month before her exams, Hima was training in Turkey. “She started preparing for her exams then itself. Her teacher from Dhing College had couriered her all the books,” says Ranjit. At the end of January, a fortnight before the Assam Higher Secondary exams commenced, she came back home. The step wasn’t considered ideal by many, her coachers included. “Even we had suggested that she sit for the exams after the Olympics 2020, but Hima was adamant that she do it now itself. She had told me: ‘If I don’t do it now, it will just keep getting delayed. And education is important’,” says her Guwahati coach, Nabajit Malakar, “There was no arguing with that.”
Hima's father Ranjit Das has a two bigha plot of land and mother Junali is a housewife. The small piece of land is the only source of income for a family of six. She is the eldest of four siblings, with two younger sisters and one younger brother.
