CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exam 2019 Date Sheet: Exams to begin in February, check dates here

CBSE has released the schedule for CBSE 12th Board Examination 2019. The examinations would be conducted between January 16 to February 15, barring in Allahabad where it has been preponed due to Kumbh Mela.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will complete the pre-examination formalities for the upcoming class 10 and 12 board examinations 2019. The board will release the CBSE 10 and 12 Board Exam 2019 date sheet anytime now. With the vocational examinations starting in the second half of February, it is expected that the date sheet will be released earlier than its usual schedule of January. The board, in a letter to the heads of affiliated schools, said that the Class 12 practical examinations will be held in January and February. For 2019 CBSE Board examination, the practical examinations will be held from January 16, 2019 to February 15, 2019 except in the city of Allahabad. The CBSE Class 12 practical examinations in Allahabad, where Kumbh Mela celebrations are happening during that period, will commence from January 1, 2019.

As per the timelines, it can be expected that the CBSE 10th 12th Board Examinations 2019 may begin from about February 18 and end by April 10. CBSE may also be expected to release the results earlier than usual by May 15, so as to complete the revaluation results before June 1, when the Delhi University Admissions begin. These dates, however, are based on timelines and actual dates are not available at present.

The Board had earlier released the list of probable subjects which are scheduled to be held on February and March 2019. Parents and students were also notified that the final list of subjects would be released only once the actual date sheet for the CBSE Board Examinations 2019 is released. Also, the actual schedule of these examinations would also be released only along with the date sheet.

Parents and students are again notified that the board examinations this year would commence from February third week (in board’s words – second half of February). The board has taken the decision to conduct the vocational examinations in February in order to speed up the schedule, so as to comply with Delhi HC’s order to complete the results before Delhi University admissions begin.

For years, CBSE board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 which used to be conducted in March will now be held in February from 2019. There are about 40 vocational courses offered by the board for Class 10 and Class 12 students. CBSE will also conduct the following exams in February as these subjects have a larger practical component and shorter theory papers:

  1. Typography and Computer Applications (English)
  2. Web applications
  3. Graphics
  4. Office Communication
