JNV Selection Test 2020: NVS Extends Deadline To Register For Class 6th Examination

In a student-friendly move, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has extended the last date to register for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) which is held for admission to Class 6. The Samiti has also revised the deadline for the phase II of the registration process. Aspirants who will complete the registration process by September 30, will be allowed only to submit details for phase II till October 3, 2019.

Meanwhile, students who are prepping and waiting eagerly to appear for JNVST 2020, can register for the examination free of cost through the official websites of NVS that are www.navodaya.gov.in and www.nvsadmissionclasssix.in.

Following the closure of the registration window, the Samiti will release the JNVST 2020 admit card on December 1, 2019 and March 1, 2020 for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of class VI examination respectively. Moreover, students/parents can visit the official websites of the examination here to check further details on the two phases of the exam.

Though there is no official confirmation in regard to the final date of JNV Selection Test 2020, previous years' records suggest that the phase 1 and phase 2 examination may take place between February and March 2020.

The test, consisting of Mental ability test, Arithmetic test, and Language test, will be conducted in various regional languages at different centres all over the country.

The marks distribution for the various sections are as follows:

  • Mental ability test: 40 questions carrying 50 marks
  • Arithmetic test: 20 questions carrying 25 marks
  • Language test: 20 questions carrying 25 marks

The time allotted to Mental ability test is 60 minutes and 30 minutes each for arithmetic test and language test.

Students who will clear the JNV Selection Test 2020 will have to submit the admission form to the respective JNVs. The parents will be informed by the concerned authorities regarding the admission process at different JNVs across India.

Every year, lakhs of students appear for JNVST entrance exam being held at various centres across India. So far, the government has sanctioned 661 Vidyalayas in 28 States and 7 Union Territories across India. Of the total 661 schools, only 636 are functioning currently.
