Kerala floods: CBSE to provide digital certificates to flood-hit students

New Delhi:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday decided to provide digital certificates including digital mark sheets, migration certificates and pass certificates through Parinam Manjusha- CBSE’s digital academic repository created in collaboration with Digital Locker.

CBSE has over 1,300 schools affiliated to it in Kerala.

The decision came in the wake of floods that had ravaged Kerala claiming over 300 lives since August 8, 2018 in the state’s worst monsoon fury in nearly a century and rendered over one million people homeless.

The digital certificates being provided through Parinam Manjusha/DigiLocker are digitally signed using digital signature of Controller of Examinations of CBSE which made them legally valid digital document as per the IT Act.

“The CBSE will re-send login-id and password of Parinam Manjusha/DigiLocker pertaining to students of the year 2016-2018 on their mobile numbers provided with Class X or XII data,” CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said in a statement.

Students of 2004-2015, 2016-2018, who did not provide mobile number at the time of Class X/XII data or students who have changed their mobile numbers will have to visit the DigiLocker website and link their Aadhaar to their account to get their digital documents by providing their roll number, class and year of examination.

In case if any student finds any variation in his/her document, he/she may contact the CBSE Regional Office Thiruvananthapuram immediately giving roll number, name, class and year.

The CBSE has also extended the deadline for submitting school information at the Online Affiliated School Information System (OASIS) for affiliated schools in Kerala till September 30, 2018.

How to apply for CBSE digital certificates:

  • Visit the official website https://cbse.digitallocker.gov.in
  • Click on ‘Sign in’ on the top right corner of the homepage.
  • Enter the login-id/password provided at the time of declaration of results on their registered mobile numbers.
  • Fill the application form and select the appropriate certificate (s).
  • Take a print of the confirmation page for future reference.
