New Delhi:

CBSE has announced the date for conducting the National Eligibilty Test (NET) that is November 19 and with this it has put an end to speculations over conducting the exams.

CBSE had earlier expresses their inability to conduct the exam but University grants Commission (UGC) had yold that the board will continue to conduct the exam. The June 2017 exam did not take place.

“NET exam will be held on 19 November 2017. Details will be available from 24 July and the period for online applications will be from 1 to 31 August,” said a senior CBSE official.

It is still not clear whether the board will conduct the exam once or twice in a year.

Generally the exam is conducted two times in a year- one in July and other in December. The exam is conducted for the grant of junior research fellowship and eligibility of junior assistant fellowship in universities and colloeges. There are higher chances of CBSE issuing a notification in this regard.
