The National Law University (NLU), Odisha is all set has started the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Earlier, the varsity was scheduled to begin the registration process on January 10 but later postponed it to Sunday. The NLU has made the link for the registration process available at its official website i.e. clat.ac.in. In order to avoid heavy traffic, students may also log in to clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in. While candidates can apply online till March 31, 2019, the last date for offline mode of applications is May 12, 2019. The NLU, Odisha is scheduled to conduct the centralised examination at 5 pm on May 12, 2019, for admission to 21 National Law Universities across India.
Here is how to register for CLAT 2019:
Step 1: Go to the official website – clat.ac.in and click on ‘apply online’
Step 2: Register by using your e-mail ID and mobile number. An e-mail ID is required to register for CLAT 2019.
Step 3: A provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system.
Step 4: An email and SMS indicating the provisional registration number and password will be sent.
Step 5: Use this number and password to log in to fill the online application
Step 6: Take a print out of all the important documents for future convenience.

Important documents:
While applying online for the CLAT 2019 examination, candidates need to keep all the documents ready to provide in the webpage. The required documents for the CLAT 2019 registration include a passport size photograph, signature of the candidate, the original certificates/documents issued by the competent authority, scanned copy of the certificate in PDF format issued by the competent authority to support the claim of Specially Abled Persons (SAP).
Eligibility Criteria:
Students who have qualified their 10+2 examination or appearing for the qualifying examination in April/May 2019 are eligible to apply for the five-year integrated law degree. Those with LLB degree are allowed to apply for the LLM degree. While the minimum marks requirement for general category candidates is 45 per cent students belonging to SC or ST category will have a relaxation of 5 per cent.
Candidates appearing for postgraduate courses should have cleared their graduate or equivalent with minimum 50 per cent marks. A relaxation of 5 per cent is allowed for SC and ST category candidates.
CLAT 2019 syllabus:
English: English comprehension, grammar, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, meaning of words, fill in the blanks.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs: Indian Constitution, Indian Geography, National Current Affairs, International Current Affairs.
Mathematics: Basic Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Sets, Mensuration. The syllabus will be on the basis of Class 10 standard.
Legal Aptitude: Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other Law Subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR etc.
Logical Reasoning: This section will include questions from General Ability (GA), Verbal Ability (VAR).
CLAT 2019 exam pattern:
UG Programme: The CLAT 2019 examination for Undergraduate (UG) courses consists of 200 Multiple-Choice Questions of one mark each. Each incorrect response will result in deduction of 0.25 mark. The 200 marks examination covers areas like English including comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning and will be held for two hours.
PG Programme: Like the Undergraduate programme, this two-hour-long examination will carry a total of 150 questions of one mark each. There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
