The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for CBSE Single Girl Child (SGC) Merit Scholarship. The last date to apply for Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child for + 2 studies – 2019 is October 31. The last date for submission of hard copy of application form is till November 25, 2019.
The scholarship form can be downloaded from the official website of the CBSE i.e. cbse.nic.in. Earlier, the registration process was scheduled to end on October 18, 2019.
Who can apply?
• Those female students who are single girl child can apply
• In short, they have to be the only child in the family
• They should have passed the CBSE Class 10 Examination with 60% or more marks and are continuing their further school education of Class 11 and 12.
• Single Girl Child students studying in CBSE affiliated schools with tuition fee not more than Rs 1, 500 per month during that academic year will be considered.
In 2018 too, the last date was October 31. The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students. Students will get Rs 500/- as scholarships per month for the next two years.
