CISCE Tells Schools To Promote All Students Up To Class 8 (Photo Credit: File Image)

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi has asked all its affiliated schools to promote all its students up to class 8 to higher classes without conducting the final annual examination. The decision is seen as an effort by the council to contain the spread of novel coronavius, since the conduct of exams may lead to health and sanitation hazard in the current environment.
This announcement was made on Friday i.e. April 3, 2020 by a CISCE official and the instructions are meant to be followed by all CISCE affiliated schools. The candidates must note that the council has not made any announcement yet regarding the the remaining exams, which have been suspended since March 19, 2020, following the government’s instructions directing all schools to stop their examinations amid the coronavirus outbreak.
A letter was issued to all CISCE affiliated school principals which stated, In view of the extraordinary circumstances of the global spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the national lockdown, some state government have issued directive to schools in their respective states regarding the promotion of all students of class 1 to 8. You are hereby advised to follow the directives of the state governments accordingly.
Earlier this week, the HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal advised all CBSE schools to promote all students from classes 1 to 8 to their higher grade due to the nationwide lockdown which resulted to all educational institutes being shut.
