Allahabad Central University has cancelled the Students Union Election as no candidate contested for the Students Union Election. Interestingly, there were no contestant available for a total of 20,000 voters of Allahabad Central University. Precisely, only 17 candidates out of 70 class representatives enrolled for the Students Union Election. Nevertheless, all candidates except two candidates withdrew their name from the election.
Meanwhile, the candidature of the remaining 2 contestants were also cancelled in subsequently due to some error in their application. The contestants for Allahabad Central University were to be selected from the list candidates who won the class representative election. Students of Allahabad University are protesting against the proposal to shut down the student’s council of Allahabad Central University, and this is the reason all contestants have withdrawn their nomination from the Students Union Election.
Other than this, Students Union Election was not held in the degree colleges of Allahabad Central University due to non-availability of contestants. It was for many months that students of Allahabad Central University were protesting against the proposal to shut down the Students Council of Allahabad Central University.
