UP Government Bans Mobile Phone In Colleges, Universities

Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, UP has banned the use of mobile phones in all colleges and university of the state. Further, a circular regarding this ban of mobile phones has been issued by the Directorate of Higher Education in Uttar Pradesh. It is mentioned in the circular about the blanket ban on mobile phone use inside the college and university campuses of Uttar Pradesh. From Now onwards, students of UP Colleges and Universities will not be allowed to use mobile or take selfies inside the campus. The Mobile Phone ban is also applied on teachers across the colleges and universities in the state.

The Directorate of Higher Education issued the circular in order to make sure that discipline and better teaching decorum is maintained in all colleges and universities of Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the government has observed that teachers and students were busy spending their valuable time on mobile phones during the college hours.

Importantly, Yogi Adityanath, CM, Uttar Pradesh has already banned the use of mobile phones during the official meetings including cabinet meetings. The decision was taken by the Government after some officers and ministers were found reading WhatsApp messages during important official meetings.
