New Delhi:

Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday lunched a scathing attack against the Centre over complete statehood demand for Delhi and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must answer the 2014 promise, where BJP had guaranteed statehood for the National Capital. Addressing media in Delhi, the Chief Minister said that both PM and Home Minister have no time to meet or address the concerns of Delhi’s citizens. He lamented that despite giving Rs 1.5 lakh crore as taxes, the Centre has been creating hurdles for the National Capital.

Talking about policing in the National Capital, Kejriwal alleged that the law and order has collapsed under the BJP leadership. He claimed that the Centre has been unfair to people of Delhi. According to Kejriwal, an internal survey says that the Aam Aadmi Party will lead on all seven seats in Delhi. The AAP has set up seven ‘war rooms’ for each constituency in the National Capital, which will have legal teams, campaign teams. Kejriwal said that in the Lok Sabha Elections, Delhi will vote for complete statehood. AAP’s national convenor announced that 85% jobs and university seats will be reserved for Delhi’s young men and women after it attains full statehood.

Earlier, Kejriwal had termed the Congress "arrogant" and claimed that its candidates would lose their deposits in the polls. At a public meeting, Kejriwal claimed his party tried persuading the Congress to forge an alliance, but "it did not understand".

Recently, Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit had said there's unanimity in the party against an alliance with the AAP for Lok Sabha polls in Delhi.

"Congress (candidates) will lose their deposits in Delhi in Lok Sabha elections," Kejriwal claimed.

The Delhi CM, while addressing the gathering in minority-dominated Mustafabad, requested people to make sure that votes don't get split between the Congress and the AAP.

"Vote for the AAP in Delhi because only it can defeat the BJP in Lok Sabha elections," he said.

Speculation over a pre-poll alliance between the Congress and the AAP still persists, even as Rahul Gandhi has already said the Delhi unit of his party is against it.
