The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha on Tuesday released a list of 9 more candidates for next month's Lok Sabha polls along with simultaneous Assembly elections in the state. The list features 2 candidates for General Elections and 7 for Odisha Legislative Assembly Elections 2019. While Mahesh Sahu will be contesting from Dhenkanal Lok Sabha seat, Chandrani Murmu has been fielded from Kendujhar parliamentary constituency.

Seven assembly candidates who found places in the list include Ananta Narayan Jena from BBSR Central, Susanta Kumar Rout from BBSR-North, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik from Khandapada, Mukesh Pal from Pallahara, Ramesh Chandra Sai from Athamallik, Pranab Prakash Das from Jaipur and Ashok Bal from Korei.
With today's announcement of nine candidates, the BJD has so far announced candidates for 135 seats out of the 147 assembly segments in the state. Talking about Lok Sabha constituencies, the party is yet to announce the name of the candidate for one seat - Cuttack. There are a total of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha will be held simultaneously in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
