Congress releases names of 20 candidates for Lok Sabha Elections, 9 for Odisha Assembly polls

The Congress on Tuesday announced a list of 20 candidates for forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Among prominent names that appeared in the list are former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal from the Chandigarh parliamentary seat and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's wife and former Union minister Preneet Kaur from Patiala.

Out of 20 candidates, six are for Punjab, four for Gujarat, three for Jharkhand, two each for Odisha and Karnataka and one each for Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The grand old party has fielded former union minister Subodh Kant Sahay from Ranchi in Jharkhand. In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has cleared the name of Pawan Kajal from the Kangra Lok Sabha seat.

Sitting MPs Sunil Jakhar from Gurdaspur, Gurjeet Singh Aujla from Amritsar, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana and Santosh Singh Chaudhary from Jalandhar have been re-nominated in Punjab

In Hoshiarpur, the party fielded Raj Kumar Chhabbewal.
