Firebrand BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Thursday equated Congress president Rahul Gandhi with Aurangzeb and his sister Priyanka Gandhi with the Mughal emperor’s brother Dara Shikoh. In an exclusive chat with News Nation, Swamy also warned Priyanka Gandhi against contesting from Varanasi. Referring to the mythological character of Abhimanyu, son of Arjun, who tried to enter the trap created by ‘Kauravas’ but lost his life in the attempt, Swamy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also created a similar ‘Chakravyuh’ and Priyanka will be met with the same fate and loose the elections.
"A 'Chakravyuh' is ready in Varanasi which can’t be discerned by any Congress leader. If Priyanka, like Abhimanyu will try to enter it, she will go out defeated,"the BJP leader said.
Further, equating the Congress chief and his general secretary sister with Mughal emperors, Swamy said, “It (Fielding Priyanka against Modi) can be an internal politics of the Congress party. Because Rahul Gandhi is playing Aurangzeb here and he want to end the politics of his sister in Kashi (Varanasi).”
Terming BSP chief Mayawati an intellectual person, Swamy said that she will never join hands with the Congress after the Lok Sabha elections to form the government as doing so will risk her vote bank.
"She is an intellectual person. She has been a teacher. She knows it very well that if she ally with the Congress after the elections, she may lose her traditional vote bank. Therefore, there is no hope for a post poll alliance between the Congress and the BSP," he said.
Reacting to Congress leader Anand Sharma’s remarks, accusing the prime minister of behaving like North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, Swamy said that Congress leaders has been in love with Pakistan and probably this was the reason he equated PM Modi with Kim. "Had Modi been a dictator like Kim Jong-un, he would be beheaded Anand Sharma," he said.
The BJP leader also defended the saffron party’s move to field terror accused Pragya Singh Thakur against Digvijay Singh from Bhopal and said that she had been given clean chit by the NIA and as far as her being on bail is concerned, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and her mother Sonia Gandhi are also out on bail and still contesting the elections.
