New ministers, who are likely to be inducted in the Cabinet, are expected to meet Narendra Modi at 4:30 pm today shortly before the swearing-in ceremony. BJP MP from Rajasthan's Bikaner, Arjun Ram Meghwal has reportedly received a phone call confirming his ministrial post in the new Modi Cabinet. Meghwal, who was minister in the incumbent Modi government, will once again be trusted for the responsibilty. It was not yet clear what portfolio he will be given. Each NDA ally is likely to get one cabinet berth, sources said. The Shiv Sena has confirmed its leader Arvind Sawant, who defeated Congress heavyweight Milind Deora from Mumbai, will be its nominee in the council of ministers.

Apart from Meghwal, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jitendra Singh, Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athawale, Babul Supriyo, Rajnath Singh, Ram Vilas Paswan, Suresh Angadi, Sadananda Gowda, P Ravindranath, Nitin Gadkari, Pralhad Joshi, Prakash Javdekar, Kailash Choudary, Krishan Pal, Anupriya Patel, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Sanjeev Baliyan, Kiren Rijiju, Smrirti Irani, Arvind Sawant, Dharmendra Debendra Pradhan, Sushma Swaraj, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Giriraj Singh, Parshottam Rupala, VK Singh, Rao Indrajit Singh, Mahesh Sharma, Krishnapal Gujjar, Nityanand Rai, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Maneka Gandhi, Manoj Sinha, S P Singh Baghel, Renuka Singh have also got a call from the Prime Ministers office, according to sources.

Earlier in the morning, the prime minister held a final round of consultations with BJP president Amit Shah to give shape to his council of ministers before sending the list to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's decision to opt out on health grounds has fuelled speculation about who will get his coveted portfolio. Railway Minister Goyal, who filled in for Jaitley and presented the populist pre-election budget, is being seen as a key contender.

The swearing-in ceremony of Modi will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan and President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the PM and other members of the Union Council of Ministers. Several leaders of BIMSTEC member countries will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi.

Those confirmed their participation included Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid, and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth. Prime ministers of Nepal and Bhutan, Special Envoy of Thailand Grisada Boonrach and Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov will also attend the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi.
