Girl student wearing 'Namo' t-shirt harassed at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's rally in Varanasi

New Delhi:

A girl student wearing a 'Namo' t-shirt was allegedly harassed by Congress workers at AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's rally in Varanasi on Wednesday. Speaking to a TV channel the girl said that she wears the particular t-shirt whenever she likes. She also said that when she went and tried to meet Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress workers allegedly manhandled her and accused her of being a BJP supporter and staging the whole scene. Uttar Pradesh Law Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the guilty would surely be brought to task.

The incident took place on Day 3 of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's Ganga Yatra. She visited the Vindhyavasini Devi temple in Mirzapur. Priyanka, who is considered as second most important face in Congress after her brother and party President Rahul Gandhi, performed 'aarti' at the temple. Later, she visited the Dargah of Maulana Ismail Chisti in Bhadohi's Kantit area and interacted with people there.

From Bhadohi, the Congress leader will then again be back to steamer ride from Mirzapur. She will interact with advocates at Kachahri Ghat in the district and then visit Bhatauli village and meet people there.
