Mumbai:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the last five years of the BJP-led government were spent in "rectifying mistakes" of the UPA regime.
Addressing a poll rally here, PM Modi also said he never claimed to have completed all the works (promised in 2014) in five years, but added several important ones have been completed.
"I have come here to thank you for your trust and blessings in the last five years and to seek them for the next five years," PM Modi said.
Recalling the action against terror camps in Pakistan, PM Modi said, "People have not forgotten the Balakot air strike, despite many saying that they have as months have passed after the action".
PM Modi termed the Congress poll manifesto a "hypocrisy document" which was "full of lies".
Attacking Congress over its sedition law or Section 124A removal promise, PM Modi said, "Is Congress with country or traitors?"
"Will you give a chance to those who seek to scrap sedition law," PM Modi asked the crowd at the rally.
This was Modi's second poll rally in the state ahead of this month's Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra. The first one was at Wardha on April 1.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi, while addressing a rally in West Bengal’s Kolkata, tore into the Congress saying its "dhakosla" (hypocritic) manifesto will expire on May 23 (the date of the Lok Sabha election results) and accused the opposition party of speaking the language of Pakistan as it sought to dilute AFSPA in terror-affected areas.
The opposition party had a history of going soft on terror, PM Modi said and cited the repealing of anti-terror laws such as TADA and POTA by Congress governments in the past.
PM Modi also hit out at opposition leaders for using "anti-India" language and said it was due to the fear over their unsteady political ground.
He slammed both the Congress and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal for asking for proof of the Balakot airstrike.
