New Delhi :

A day after sharing the stage with old rival Mulayam Singh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati on Saturday held a joint rally with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, which will go to polls in the third phase on April 23. During the rally in support of SP candidate Azam Khan, the BSP chief launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying that the party will be dethroned after the elections due to the Rafale scam in the same manner in which the Congress was dislodged after the Bofors scam.

"Like the Congress was dislodged from power after the Bofors scam, similarly the BJP will be dethroned after the Rafale scam in the elections," Mayawati said during the rally.

Tearing into the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati said that sugarcane farmers in the state were not paid their dues by the government and crops were being destroyed by the nomadic animals.

Mayawati said that during the five years rule of the Narendra Modi government, only capitalist and businessmen people developed and some of them even allowed to escape after looting public’s money.

Speaking about Rahul Gandhi’s NYAY scheme that promises minimum income guarantee to the families, the BSP chief said that the promise of Rs 6 thousand per month by the Congress is not possible and added that if her party came to power, it will ensure jobs to the poor instead of inducement.

The BJP government in the Centre and the state was also on the target of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav who accused the Yogi government of stealing urea of farmers. Yadav said that the prime minister calls their coalition "mahamilawat" but the alliance will bring "mahapraivartan".
