Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone of Patna Metro Rail Project. The Patna Metro Rail project promises to give the boost to transport connectivity and will add to ease of living for the people of Patna and adjoining areas.  Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Bihar’s Barauni after which he launched a series of development projects. The projects will also boost fertilizer production, and significantly enhance medical, and sanitation facilities in Bihar.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the stage with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for the first time after 2017 BJP-JD(U) realignment. During the rally, PM Modi asserted that he shared the grief and outrage with the people of the nation in the wake of the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel.  The prime minister, who was in this north Bihar town to launch a slew of projects, began his speech with a few lines in the local dialect Angika and paid tributes to two jawans from the state who died in the Pulwama attack. "I salute and pay my tributes to Sanjay Kumar Sinha and Ratan Kumar Thakur. To the people who have gathered here, I would like to say the fire that is raging in your bosoms, is in my heart too," Modi said, evoking a thunderous response from the crowds. 

The sector-wise project details are as follows -

Urban Development and Sanitation

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Patna Metro Rail Project which will give a boost to transport connectivity and add to ease of living for the people of Patna and adjoining areas.

The first phase oRiverFrontnt Development at Patna was inaugurated by the prime minister. Foundation Stone for the Karmalichak Sewerage Network spanning 96.54 kilometres was laid by PM Modi.

Works related to Sewage Treatment Plants at Barh, Sultanganj and Naugachia will be kicked off by PM. He will also lay the Foundation Stone for 22 AMRUT projects at various locations.

Railways

PM also inaugurated the electrification of Railway Lines on the following sectors:

· Barauni-Kumedpur

· Muzaffarpur-Raxaul

· Fatuha-Islampur

· Biharsharif-Daniawan

Oil & Gas

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Phulpur to Patna stretch of the Jagdishpur-Varanasi Natural Gas pipeline. He also raised curtain from the Patna City Gas Distribution project. Foundation Stone of the 9 MMT AVU of the Barauni Refinery Expansion Project was also laid on, the occasion. PM laid the Foundation Stone for the augmentation of the Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur LPG pipeline from Durgapur to Muzaffarpur and Patna.

He also laid the Foundation Stone for the ATF Hydrotreating Unit (INDJET) at Barauni Refinery. These projects will significantly augment the availability of energy in the city and the region.
