Bihar Opinion Poll: NDA may win 27 seats with 45 per cent vote share in Lok Sabha Elections

Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to declare its schedule for the high-voltage Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in a couple of days and it is likely to be spread over 7-8 phases in April-May. With just months to go for it, News Nation conducted an opinion poll to assess what the performance of each of the political parties in Bihar would be in case the Parliamentary Elections were to be held today. News Nation team travelled across all the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state and tried to find out who will have the better chance in upcoming General Elections.

According to the opinion poll, the BJP-led NDA is going to be the biggest gainer in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections by winning 27 seats in the politically crucial state. On the other hand, the grand alliance - which comprises RJD, Congress, HAM, RLSP, VIP, Sharad Yadav’s LJD and the three Left parties – CPI, CPI(ML) and CPM - may grab 12 seats with 37 per cent votes. The BJP is likely to get 47 vote share. 

According to the people of Bihar, issues that will dominate Lok Sabha elections are - unemployment 24 per cent, inflation 24 per cent, PM candidate 16 per cent, corruption 6 per cent, local candidate 5 per cent, law and order 4 per cent, agrarian issues 4 per cent, Ram Temple 4 per cent and others 13 per cent.

During the poll, staggering 46 per cent of the respondents said that Narendra Modi is their preferred choice for the prime ministerial post in 2019 and 28 per cent said that they will vote for Congress president Rahul Gandhi for the top post.
