Congress president Rahul Gandhi's scheduled visit to Odisha's Kandhamal district onTuesday was cancelled, party sources said. Gandhi's visit was cancelled in view of a possible thunderstorm in Kandhamal area on Tuesday evening, a party communication said, adding that Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik and Chhattishgarh health minister TS Singhdeo will attend the programme.

In a move which can upset the BSP-SP-RLD alliance in the state, Bhim Army, which has a considerable following in western Uttar Pradesh, has appealed to members of the community to vote for Congress' Saharanpur Lok Sabha candidate Imran Masood. The move comes days after Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati described Bhim Army founder Chandrashekhar Azad as a "BJP agent" and accused him of trying to divide votes.

Election Commission has called the Revenue Secretary and Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) today to discuss the ongoing Income Tax raids in Madhya Pradesh.

A report by an election watchdog has revealed that 29 of the 184 candidates contesting the April 11 Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh have criminal antecedents. Nine of the 29 candidates belong to the Congress, the report by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said.

The Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party (SP-BSP) alliance has announced Arun Shankar Shukla, alias Anna Maharaj, as its candidate from the Unnao Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. Anna has replaced former MLA Pooja Pal whose ticket was cancelled because of some "technical problem" in her documents, Rajesh Yadav, SP District Secretary, said on Monday.

The villagers have decided to boycott the Lok Sabha Elections alleging non-availability of basic facilities in their area  and non-payment of crop insurance money 2017-18. The locals said, there's no proper road connectivity or drinking water facility here, no good schools for children. We didn't receive payment under rural employment scheme or crop insurance money for 2017-18. Despite repeated pleas to administration, we didn't receive anything. So we are boycotting the polls, locals said.

Madhya Pradesh BJP Chief and candidate from Jabalpur parliamentary constituency Rakesh Singh issued show-cause notice for allegedly violating Model Code of Conduct.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Hailakandi district in Assam and then to south Odisha to campaign for his candidates. He is likely to attend a public meeting at Digapahandi in Ganjam district. Rahul Gandhi will also address an election rally at Gaya in support of HAM(S) chief and former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. 

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address joint rallies in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, Shamli and Bijnor.
