New Delhi:

Former Union Minister and Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyer, notorious for his controversial remarks, has termed Narendra Modi the country’s “most foul mouthed prime minister” and claimed that his ouster on May 23 is certain. In his blog written for a news website called The Print, Aiyer said, "Modi will, in any case, be ousted by the people of India on 23 May. That would be a fitting end to the most foul-mouthed prime minister this country has seen or is likely to see."

He also referred to his "2017 remark" and asked, "Remember how I described him on 7 December 2017? Was I not prophetic?"

The former diplomat accused the prime minister of being involved in anti-national activity by using the sacrifices of soldiers in his 'dirty election campaign'. "Modi needs to be warned that he is guilty of anti-national activity in trying to ride on the sacrifices of our army and CRPF martyrs in a dirty election campaign," he said, adding the the PM also insulted Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.

The Congress leader had courted a massive controvery ahead of the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections by calling PM Modi a "neech kism ka insan". Aiyer's remarks led to his suspension from the party and prompted Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to intervene and demand apology from him.

The neech remark cost the Congress party dearly in the Gujarat elections as PM Modi and the BJP made it an election issue. After the Aiyer's 'neech' remark, Modi said that this reflected the Congress party's 'Mughalai Mindset'.

“Congress leaders are speaking in a language that is not acceptable in democracy. One Congress leader, who has studied in best institutions, served as a diplomat, was a Minister in Cabinet, he said Modi is 'Neech.' This is insulting. This is nothing but a Mughalai Mindset’,” Modi had said in response to Aiyar’s remark.
