Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh-East Priyanka Gandhi, who is on a four-day state visit, will begin her 140-km-long ‘Ganga yatra’ from Allahabad to Varanasi on Monday. During her second visit to Uttar Pradesh after being appointed the party's general secretary, Priyanka will formally kick off Congress party's campaign for the Lok Sabha elections from the political hotbed of eastern Uttar Pradesh - Allahabad - and reach Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi using the river route. Ahead of her visit, Priyanka on Sunday wrote an open letter to the people of Uttar Pradesh and promised to have an honest conversation about their grievances.

Priyanka Gandhi made her first stop of her Ganga yatra, at the Dumduma ghat. During her stop, she urged voters to "think before casting their votes". "PM Modi only favours the industrialists and so think before voting, use your vote correctly and in a way that your vote changes things in the country," she said.

Ahead of the steamer ride, Priyanka visited the famous 'Bade Hanuman Ji' temple, which is located next to Sangam Ghat.

On Sunday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived at the party office in Lucknow. During her visit, she held several meetings with party leaders and workers to churn out her party's poll strategy in Uttar Pradesh.
