New Delhi:

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, in an exclusive interview to News Nation, said that Congress is not like RSS and the grand-old-party first listens and then works. He further said that RSS is an instrument of advertisement and an amplifier.

Talking to News Nation’s Ajay Kumar and Deepak Chaurasia, Rahul Gandhi said, “Congress never side lined the RBI. Never during the Congress rule, four judges of the Supreme Court came out in public and said that an ‘external force’ is stopping us from working. Whom where they talking about? They took Judge Loya’s name. It is obvious that ‘external force’ is Narendra Modi.”

Taking a dig at PM Modi, the Congress president said, “Modi ji damaged the Planning Commission, Election Commission and as well as RBI.” “Congress is not like RSS. Congress first listens and then works whereas RSS is an instrument of advertisement. RSS does not think, it is an amplifier,” he added.

The Gandhi scion went on to say that Congress party speaks after listening to the nation. “Our party carried out bank nationalisation, you can call it Left of Centre, the same party brought liberalisation 10-15 years later, you can call it Right of Centre. The same party gave MNREGA, it also talked about GST. The Congress works pragmatically after listening to everyone,” Rahul Gandhi said.

He further asserted that Congress does not have a central rigid ideology. “We work after listening to the nation,” he added.

Continuing his attack on RSS and PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi said, “An institution like RSS attacks the institutions of India. When Narendra Modi demonetised the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes without asking the RBI Governor. They did not listen to the nation. The nation has said that in financial matters, we will make this institution our advisor. Narendra Modi ji sidelined them. On the other hand, Congress would have never done that. Congress has built the institutions.”

“Congress fought the most important war of freedom,” he noted.

It is to be noted that in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA won a sweeping victory, taking 336 seats of 543. On the other hand, UPA managed to win only 59 seats, 44 of which were won by the Congress.

Since then, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has been trying to make a ground for the party to win 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the meantime, the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are currently being held in seven phases. While the first 6 phases have ended, the seventh phase of polls will take place on May 19. Right from ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’, Demonetisation, Rafale scam to National security, Congress has been attacking PM Modi and NDA-led centre and is trying to attract voters.
