New Delhi:

Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav wanted to make a mark on the poll day. His e-rickshaw ride to the polling booth in Bihar’s capital Patna was hailed by many. But what started positively note, Tej Pratap’s day as a voter ended on a bitter note. Moments after casting his vote, Tej Pratap’s bouncers were seen fighting with local journalists, who had gone there to cover the elections. The shocking incident came to light after the small clip of the scuffle went viral. The clip posted by news agency ANI showed the bouncers dressed in black overalls thrashing the journalists.

After the initial frenzy, a video journalist said that Tej Pratap’s car crushed his foot and he lost his balance. Due to this, the journalist crashed into Tej Pratap’s car and broke the windshield. Enraged, the bouncers started thrashing the journalists.

In the melee, media personnel were seen shouting at top of their voices so that Tej Pratap’s driver would stop the car, but he didn’t. Later, Lalu’s elder son filed an FIR and also claimed that it was an attempt to murder him.

In a series of tweets, Tej Pratap posted photos of his driver and the broken windshield. He also posted the photo of his complaint to the local police station. Tej Pratap has alleged that a journalist attacked his car. He claimed that his driver suffered an eye injury in the ‘deadly attack.’

He demanded that the ‘culprit’ should be arrested and due legal process must be followed. On political front, Tej Pratap left RJD and formed own party after an altercation with his brother Tejashwi Yadav. Older than Tejashwi Yadav, the mercurial elder son of Lalu-Rabri has dropped many hints in the past few years that he was uneasy with the growing clout with his younger, but more suave and savvy, brother. In the recent past, he has berated people known to be close to Tejashwi, like Maner MLA and state chief spokesman Bhai Virendra. A day prior to the announcement of candidates for phases three to seven by the Grand Alliance which the RJD leads in Bihar, Yadav had resigned as the patron of the party’s student wing which was seen yet another expression of his frustration at being politically sidelined.
