New Delhi:

Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "dynastic politics" attack on the Congress, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday said that the former should stop thinking people are fools and understand that they see through everything.

"The prime minister has attacked every institution in this country for the last five years, including the institution of which all of you are a part," Priyanka Gandhi told reporters.

"So I think the PM should stop thinking that people are fools and understand that they see through all this," she added.

The Congress general secretary went on to say she is not afraid.

"Even if anything is done, and we are harassed, we will not feel afraid. We will continue our fight against them. The more we are harassed, the stronger will be our fight," she said.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi, in his blog titled ‘Institutional respect and Institutional contempt - two contrasting approaches’, urged people to think wisely before casting their vote and attacked the Congress, alleging that the grand old party believed in insulting institutions, including Parliament, judiciary, media and the armed forces, when it was in power.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal also hit back saying the PM himself comes from the Sangh Parivar without whose blessings no one in the country can occupy any public position.

He said the prime minister should introspect and instead of talking about dynastic politics, should focus on issues confronting people.

"What is the PM talking about? No one in the BJP can occupy any public position without the support of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh). The Sangh Parivar is the biggest parivar in the world. Without their blessings no one can hold any public position in the country, be it the position of a PM, a minister, governor or chief ministers," Sibal told PTI.

PM Modi, in his blog, said when a government works with the spirit of ‘India First’ instead of ‘Family First’, it shows in its working.

PM Modi wrote that in 2014, people of the nation voted decisively for “honesty over dynasty, development over decay, security over stagnation, opportunities over obstacles and vikas over vote-bank politics”.

Alleging that the party didn't believe in internal democracy, he said that if a leader wanted to head the Congress, he or she would be "shunted out". He alleged that the Congress saw the defence sector as a source of income.
