Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi has made an emotional appeal to her elder son and RJD leader Tej Pratap, who is reportedly not on good terms with his family. "Bahut hua, laut aao beta (Enough son, please return home),” Rabri - who is pained by Tej Pratap's decision to stay separately in the state capital - said while talking to reporters.
Rabri, however, said that she telephoned her son daily to talk to him.
When asked about differences between her two sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, Rabri said that such reports have nothing substantial and are being spread by opposition parties to divide her family.
"It is all a creation of vested interests," she said.
"Some people have been trying to instigate and mislead my son. It is possible that our rivals', BJP and JD-U, people may be behind it," Rabri said in a reference to Tej Pratap Yadav.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who recently urged his mother to contest from Saran Lok Sabha seat in place of the father of his estranged wife and threatened to contest as an Independent if his request was not heeded, has not returned home since he visited his father Lalu Prasad in Ranchi last year, after filing a petition in court seeking divorce from his newly-wedded wife, family sources said.
Tej Pratap Yadav got married in May last year to Aishwariya Rai, the daughter of a senior RJD leader Chandrika Rai.
Chandrika Rai, the party's MLA from Parsa seat falling under Saran, was announced as the party candidate from the Lok Sabha seat last week. BJP has named sitting MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy as its nominee on the politically important seat.
Rai's daughter Aishwarya had tied the knot with Yadav in May last year though the latter moved a divorce petition within less than six months of the marriage.
