New Delhi:

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday ended the suspense over distribution of seats among 'Mahagathbandhan' partners in Bihar and announced the candidates for most of the Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. Addressing a press conference, Tejashwi Yadav said that RJD will contest on 19 seats including Bhagalpur, Banka, Madhyapura, and Darbhanga, while the Congress will contest nine seats including Patna Saheb - the constituency of Shatrughan Singha who recently announced to join the party. Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) has got five seats.

The RJD leader announced Tanvir Hasan and Misa Bharti's candidature  from Begusarai and Pataliputra, respectively. Rebel JDU leader Sharad Yadav, who quit the party after Nitish Kumar ditched 'Mahagathbandhan' to join hands with the BJP, will contest from Madhepura on RJD symbol.

Hours before the RJD leader's presser, the Congress had released another list of candidates which consisted four constituencies from Bihar. The Congress fielded Pappu Yadav's wife Ranjeet Ranjan from Supaul and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar from Sasaram. The other two names were Ashok Kumar from Samastipur and Neelam Devi from Munger.

Earlier, their were reports of a rift between the Congress and the RJD over two seats  - Darbhanga and Supaul. However, with announcment of seats distribution, the stallmate has come to an end. While the RJD kept Darbhanga, Saupal went to the Congress and the party fielded Ranjeet Ranjan from the constituency.
