New Delhi:
A BJP worker’s body was found hanging from a tree in the Senabona village of Purulia district in West Bengal on Thursday even as polling in three constituencies in the state is underway. The BJP Yuva Morcha member was identified as Sisupal Sahis and he was found hanging from a tree in Senabana village of Arsha. The police, while trying to bring down the body, were gheraod by locals. The Election Commission CEO has asked district magistrate to give a report.
Sihas' father is also a member of the local Panchayat. Local BJP leaders have alleged that the death is a political murder committed by Trinamool workers.
This is the third such incident in a year. Earlier two other BJP member’s body was found hanging from a tree and a high-tension tower. The case is eerily similar to the murder of a BJP worker, Trilochan Mahato, in the same district in May 2018. Mahato’s lifeless body was also found hanging from a tree.
