New Delhi:

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday came out with all her gun blazing at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that his "chowkidaari" is making the rich wealthier and the BJP’s "theatrics and rhetoric" will not yield any result in the Lok Sabha polls.

"The BJP will go out of power. Their natakbaazi (theatrics) and jumlebaazi (rhetoric) won't work. This chowkidari (guarding) won't work. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised acche din but he hasn't fulfilled even one-fourth of them," media quoted Mayawati as saying.

Addressing an election rally in support of her party candidates in Northeast Delhi, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister further said no development was carried out for minorities and backward castes under the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the last five years. The condition was nothing different during the Congress' rule, she added.

Moving on to India’s economic conditions, Mayawati said, "GST and demonetisation was implemented without proper planning and, therefore, has increased poverty".

The BSP chief alleged that Modi and BJP President Amit Shah have tried every tactic to assure that the SP-BSP-RLD "gathbandhan", does not win in this Lok Sabha elections.

"Modi and Amit Shah have tried every trick in the book to stop the BSP-SP-RLD alliance from wining," Mayawati said adding the promise of 'achche din' by the BJP in its manifesto has remained unfulfilled just like in the case of Congress party.

While the Congress was in a bad shape in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP was in a "worst" condition in the state, she reiterated. Mayawati further appealed to the crowd "not to fall" for the big promises made by the Congress and the BJP.

The massive rally took place at around 2 pm at Ramlila Maidan, opposite GTB Hospital, near Dilshad Garden in northeast Delhi. All the seven Lok Sabha seats, including the northeast Delhi, in the national capital will go to polls in a single phase on May 12. The counting of votes for seven phase Lok Sabha elections will be taken up on May 23.
