New Delhi:
Congress president Rahul Gandhi will file his nomination for the Amethi seat in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Prior to the filing of the nomination at the DC office, the Congress chief, accompanied by sister and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and brother-in-law Robert Vadra, have embarked on a road show. Rahul's nephew Raihan and niece Miraya are also present.
Here are the highlights:
12:50 pm: Gandhi files nomination at the collectorate office in presence of mother Sonia and sister Priyanka.
12.31 pm:Â Rahul Gandhi, who is also contesting from Wayanad in Kerala, had filed his nomination papers there on April 4.
12.30 pm: Rahul Gandhi will file his nomination shortly. The three-term MP will take on Union minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani in the Lok Sabha election in a virtually direct contest as the SP-BSP-RLD alliance has decided not to put up any candidate here.
12.22 pm:Â Sonia Gandhi arrives at District Collector office in Amethi, where Congress President Rahul Gandhi will file his nomination.
