With hard-fought political campaigns and the daily war of words underway between top most politicians, the temperature is soaring high - both literally and figuratively in this season of Lok Sabha elections, the largest festival of democracy all over the world. From serving meals in packets labelled 'Namo food' to railway tickets and tea cups with 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' slogan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name has been at the centre of political storm over the last few months. Amid these political controversies in this season of polarised politics, here we bring you an interesting fact associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi which you may like to know. Did you know there are a number of villages and towns in the country which are named after PM Modi?

Madhya Pradesh:

Yes! There are several villages and towns in 12 states across India which are named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Of the total 27 villages, named after Modi across the country, 9 villages exist in Madhya Pradesh alone. While there are four such villages in Shajpur, Neemuch, Ujjain and Mandsaur district, you will find four other villages namely - 'Khejra Modi', 'Kheda Modi', 'Khaira Modi' and 'Kheriya Modi' in Damoh, Neemuch, Shivpuri and the Gwalior district respectively.

Rajasthan:

Talking about Rajasthan, there are two such villages in Ajmer and one each in Jhunjhunun and Udaipur district. In Nagaur district, there are two villages named 'Modi Charan' and 'Modi Khurd'.

Jharkhand:

Moving on to Jharkhand, there are three villages or towns which features the last name of the prime minister of India - 'Modi'. While there is a village named 'Modi Band' in Deoghar, two other villages namely 'Modi Chowk' can be found in Godda and Hazaribagh district.

Uttar Pradesh:

In case you are curious about our very own Uttar Pradesh, then you can tour to Ghaziabad district where you will find a village named 'Abdullah Modi'.

Northeast:

If you take a trip down the northeastern states, there is a village named Modi in Manipur's Chandel district. Besides, Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh, Haryana's Sirsa, Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Siang, Chhattisgarh's North Bastar Kanker, Andhra Pradesh's Adilabad and Punjab's Firozpur have one village each named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
