Fatehabad:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the opposition’s attempts to form grand alliance, and said that the Congress and its ‘mahamilavati’ allies have given up and exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power on May 23.

“Opposition's intention to form 'khichdi sarkar' has fallen flat. Congress and their 'mahamilavati' allies have given up. The picture is clear after five rounds of polling. We are returning to power on May 23,” he said while addressing a rally in Haryana’s Fatehabad.

He alleged that the Congress has done "brashtachar ki kheti” and the proof is in Haryana and elsewhere. Ten Lok Sabha seats of Haryana go to polls in the sixth phase on May 12.

PM Modi once again invoked the issue of national security to attack the Congress. “Before 2014, Pakistan used to carry out brutality with our jawans. There used to be terror attacks in the country and the then central government only used to give statements,” PM Modi said.

He also credited his government for the listing of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a ‘global terrorist’ by the United Nations.

“Our jawans attack terrorists inside their den. First we carried out surgical strike through land, then we carried out airstrike. Terrorists who used to scare are now hiding in fear. Masood Azhar has now been declared a global terrorist,” said PM Modi.

“Pakistan is now forced to take action against Masood Azhar. Congress could not make this happen despite their attempts for five-six years. Why? Because they had no intention and their policy was not clear,” he added.

PM Modi also mocked the Congress over the ED action against Robert Vadra in connection with a money laundering case, saying that one who looted farmers is now visiting courts to get bail.

“This chowkidaar has taken the person who looted farmers to court. He is making rounds of ED and court to take bail. He used to think he is Shahenshah, now is nervous. I've already taken him to jail door. Give blessings and I'll put him in jail within next five years,” PM said.

He also slammed the Congress over its promise to amend the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), saying that the grand old party was trying to give a free hand to terrorists and stone pelters in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Congress in its ‘dhakosla patra’ has said that if they return to power, they will snatch the powers given to security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir. This means they are talking about giving freedom to terrorists and stone pelters,” he said.
