PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti to contest Lok Sabha Elections from Anantnag seat

New Delhi:

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Anantnag parliamentary seat.

Mufti has represented the Anantnag constituency twice in the past - from 2004 to 2009 and from 2014 to 2018.

The decision was taken after the Parliamentary board meeting which finalised the names of candidates. It was also decided that the PDP will not contest Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats.

There has been no decision on Ladakh as yet.
