To celebrate her big win, here are some lesser known facts about the actress:

TV actress Dipika Kakar started her career as an air hostess in a well-known airline. With acting developed as a new-found interest, Dipika tried her hand at it after quitting her job as an air hostess.

Not Simar, Dipika ventured into serials with daily soap Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. After holding her ground in the show, Dipika got her hands on Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. It was only then when Sasural Simar Ka happened. The show ran for good 6 years and Dipika was a part of it for 5 years becoming a known face in every household.

Dipika was previously married to pilot Raunak Samson. She met Raunak while she was an air hostess and tied the knot with him. The two ended their 5-year-old marriage, owing to personal and compatibility issues while some say Dipika's whirlwind affair with her then boyfriend and co-star, Shoaib Ibrahim was the reason behind her wedding falling apart.

Rumours churned that Dipika was dating her co-star Shoaib Ibrahim while she was still married. The actress is also said to have converted to Islam post her wedding with Shoaib and changed her name to Faiza. The Nikaah wedding, that took place in Shoaib's native village Maudaha Hamirpur, UP, saw their entire family and a handful of their industry friends

The actress also marked her debut into Bollywood with Border fame filmmaker JP Dutta’s movie 'Paltan'. Dipika played one of the three leading ladies and was applauded for her performance. However, the movie did not manage to do make its mark onscreen.
