Dangal star Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim are set to return to silver screen with ‘Secret Superstar’ which is slated to release this Diwali on October 19. This is second back-to-back film of both Aamir and Zaira together.
Zaira Wasim is playing the lead role of an aspiring singer who becomes an internet sensation without revealing her original identity. Aamir Khan to be seen in playing a cameo in the film.
Trade analyst Girish Johar thinks the movie will have a decent opening at the box-office and said, “Secret Superstar team is targeting the screen count to be more than 1100. Since it is a high content film targeting metro cities and A-tier cities, it could start a little slow’’.
He further added, ‘’Also, because it is clashing with Golmaal Again which is a huge brand film. Well, everyone knows that Aamir Khan has a special appearance in the film, so it could bank heavily on its word of mouth’’.
Girish feels the film will start somewhere around Rs 4 crore mark and it really depends on film’s content and word-of-mouth. And, if the movie is excellent, it can jump more than 50-60% on day 2 of the week.
Aamir and Zaira last film ‘Dangal’ was a ground-breaking hit and some analyst feels that ‘Secret Superstar’ will also cash in with the same popularity.
But, Girish said, “I think both are different films and coming from Aamir Khan, everyone knows that Secret Superstar is going to be a content-driven film. Aamir has anyways been very true while promoting the film, saying that it is a small-budget film, as he always does. And obviously, if you are coming with some success behind your belt, it always certain kind of expectations from fans’’.
