After the allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar surfaced, many celebrities from the Bollywood fraternity had extended their support to Tanushree Dutta. Twinkle Khanna too took her stand for the actor, but Tanushree had probed her husband's integrity for working with Nana in Housefull 4. Later, the harassment allegations against Sajid Khan – Housefull 4 director - further pushed the future of the film to deep waters. Twinkle Khanna on Friday called on the cast and crew of Housefull 4 to take a firm stand on the multiple incidents of sexual harassment being reported on social media. Actor Akshay Kumar confirmed on Friday that he has requested the producers of the movie to halt the film's shoot, asserting that he will not work with any "proven offenders".
Both Akshay and Twinkle’s comments came after Housefull 4 director Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by two women. The comedy film features Nana Patekar, who has also been "ousted" by actor Tanushree Dutta, as well as Bollywood Khiladi ‘Akshay’.
The actor-turned-author took to her twitter handle to express her disbelief to what women had to go through. She tweeted, “Appalled hearing multiple incidents of harassment and it is truly horrific to hear what these women have been through. Everyone involved in Housefull needs to take a firm stance on this issue. This cannot go on,"

The “2.0” actor, who came back to the country on Thursday, too expressed his dismay over the recent turn of events. “I will not work with any proven offenders and all those who have been subjugated to harassment should be heard and given the justice they deserve,” shared the actor on Twitter.
