Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Kesari, suffered an injury on the sets. The Rustom actor injured his ribs while doing a high-octane climax sequence in Maharashtra’s Satara district, a report in Zoom said.

The report claimed that the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha star didn’t wish to stall the shoot and thus refused to fly back to Mumbai. A chopper was available on the sets but Akshay decided to stay on the shoot location in Wai, the report suggested.

An online entertainment portal reported that Akshay Kumar would take the decision regarding the shoot on Thursday.

Talking about Kesari, the film is based on the battle of Saragrahi in 1897 when an army of 21 Sikhs took on 10,000 Afghans in North-West Frontier Province. Khiladi Kumar is playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh in the war drama movie.

The Anurag Singh directorial which also stars Parineeti Chopra and Pawan Malhotra will feature several action scenes. Popular stunt coordinator Lawrence Woodward of Mad Max: Fury Road fame, is choregraphing all the stunts, a report in Mumbai Mirror said.

The film produced by Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar will hit the silver screens sometime next year.

Akshay, who was last seen in PadMan, has many interesting projects in the form of Gold and 2.0. While Reema Kagti’s Gold will hit the cinema theatres on August 15, 2018, the release date of S Shankar’s 2.0 is yet to be revealed.
