New Delhi:

Alok Nath has been missing in action for a while now. The veteran actor was banned by Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) after he was accused of sexual harassment by producer-writer Vinta Nanda.

Now reports have it that the actor has shot for a film that centres around the subject of the #MeToo movement that took the country by storm last year. The movie is titled '#MaiBhi'

The irony is that the 62-year-old actor is essaying the role of a judge who works against sexual harassment. The film also stars model turned actress Sonali Raut who was last seen in Bigg Boss, Season 8. Major parts of the movie were shot in Bhopal.

The actor has also confirmed the news. "I’m not doing any films at the moment. This was something I shot for a while ago" he said.

Revealing details he added, "Is there a problem? You sound sad that I’m doing a film. It’s a puny role for poor producers, let it release."The film is directed by Nasir Khan. It also features Khalid Siddiqui, Shawar Ali and Imran Khan. Veteran actors Mukesh Khanna and Shahbaz Khan play the lawyers.

Talking about the film, Khalid last seen in TV show 'Mariam Kahn' said that the film deals with child molestation particularly with regard to boys. Khalid's character, along with the other, are affected by incidents that change their lives.

After Vinita Nanda's accusation came in light, other industry personnel like Sandhya Mridul, Himani Shivpuri and Deepika Amin's came together in her support and accused Alok Nath of sexual misconduct.

Alok Nath was given anticipatory bail by the court in January this year albeit with a few conditions such as, he would not visit the Nanda's house and that he would not threaten or bribe anyone associated with the case. The court also observed that Vinta Nanda “did not lodge the report immediately after the alleged incident for her own benefit and therefore, the possibility cannot be ruled out that the applicant [Alok Nath] has been falsely accused in the crime."
