Following allegations of sexual misconduct against his uncle, Amaal Mallik says that he is humiliated about what had happened. The #MeToo movement which developed after sexual allegations erupted against Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein that made its way to Bollywood with actors such as Tanushree Dutta speaking out and others following suit, the movement opened a lot of skeletons in the closet of the big shots no one saw coming.
Music director and uncle of Ammal Mallik who had his name tainted after a sexual misconduct was filed by singers like Sona Mohapatra, Alisha Chinai, Shweta Pandit was one such big names which made headlines.
Amaal who is also very close to singer Sona Mohapatra finally opened up to the allegations against his music director uncle, Anu Malik. Sitting down with BollywoodLife on the accusations, he said, “When it happened, it was obviously a little humiliating. But, more importantly, I would like to say that my family is first my four people. Beyond that, I don’t count anyone as a family. Unki apni family hai (he has his own family) and it was a tough time for them".

Amaal also added that he is in support of the #MeToo Movement adding, “What happens is, when people talk on social media, it goes a little wrong. When you have alleged someone and taken their name, you should drag it (the matter) to the court and (pursue it) through the judicial system, try to achieve what you want to achieve. Because if you don’t take it ahead, then why did you even do this in the first place.”
The singer, who is known to both Sona Mohapatra and Anu Malik also showed his support to Sona stating that if she has filed the allegations, there must be a reason to it. He also suggested the idea of taking forward to the court for the allegations.
Like his uncle, Anu Malik, Amaal is all set to make his TV debut as a judge in an upcoming season of kids Sa Re Ga Ma Pa that will also have a panel of Richa Sharma and Shaan.
