Article 15 gets go-ahead from outfit representing Brahmin community

New Delhi:

A day after Brahmin organizations protested outside cinema halls against the screening of Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15 calling it caste discriminatory towards Brahmin community, have finally been given a go-ahead.

Abhinav Sinha took to his social media handle to share a picture of the public notice given by a Brahmin outfit named Antarrashtriya Brahmin Mahasangh Bharat. He tweeted, "Green Signal... Just received via whatsapp....(sic)."

Members of various Brahmin organisations Friday staged protests outside cinema halls here against the screening of Ayushman Khurrana- starrer "Article 15".

 

The letter written by Pankaj Joshi, National President, Antarrashtriya Brahmin Mahasangh Bharat roughly said that he watched the first day, first show of Article 15 in Trident Mall, Jaipur and after watching the film he concluded that nothing of the sort happened as claimed.

The trailer of the film, however, was made via the makers in such a manner that Brahmins were showcased as criminals. This was just a 'publicity stunt' therefore Article 15 is hereby provided with a green signal.

The letter also thanked Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena to uniting in to protest and Supremo Sukhdev Singh, State co-ordinator Daulat Singh and Youth president Surjeet Singh Rathour, for his support

The protests meanwhile led to the screening of the film getting cancelled in all cinema halls including Z-square mall. As soon as the screening started, situation outside the cinema halls and the mall became tensed," Superintendent of Police

Members of various Brahmin organisations like Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Ekta Parishad, Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, Parshuram Sarva Kalyan and Brahmin Mahasabha raised slogans against the actors and the producer of the film and tore-off film-posters.

Article 15, a movie about social justice has a hard-hitting tagline, 'Ab farq laayenge'! which means 'Now, we'll bring the change!' The movie also stars Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in important roles.
