Sanya Malhotra has had an incredible 2018 with her last two outings Badhaai Ho doing extremely well at the box office and emerging as a blockbuster hit. Sanya’s performance in Pataakha was much-acclaimed by the critics and the audience. The actress made her debut with Dangal in which she essayed the role of Babita has garnered immense appreciation as the Haryanvi wrestler which was a blockbuster success.
Sanya first made her mark with her debut film Dangal which went on to become one of the highest grossers of the year. Since then Sanya has carved a place for herself as a strong performer. She impressed the audience as the wrestling champion Babita Phogat in Dangal.
Sanya continues to impress. She has already garnered immense appreciation for her performance as the rooted and rustic village girl in her second film. As the actress continues to win hearts, her proud parents in Delhi have been celebrating her success.

In her second outing Pataakha, she essayed the raw and rustic Chutki. She looked perfect as the girl next door based in the village. In Badhaai Ho wherein for the first time, Sanya Malhotra is seen playing an Urban character. The actress who has wooed the audience with her rooted avatars looks refreshing as quintessential Delhi girl.
Sanya’s Badhaai Ho has grossed 200 crores globally today. This is her second film to cross the 200-crore mark at the global box office. With just three films old, Sanya has already made a mark for herself in the industry.
Sanya journey of becoming a Bollywood star began after she received a call from casting director Mukesh Chhabra's office for a film which was for a second lead but the film eventually got shelved. However, a few months later Sanya received another call from Mukesh’s office, this time for the main character in Dangal.
Recalling how she got the role, the actress shared, "We had to go through a few more sessions. Aamir sir came to meet us in his Mahavir Phogat avatar. The sessions went on for a month, by the end of which, we were all getting impatient to know who had bagged the part as we had been asked to not take up any other work.

Currently, Sanya Malhotra is busy shooting for her upcoming flick and Ritesh Batra's directorial venture Photograph which also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
