New Delhi:

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's romantic comedy 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is doing wonders at the box office and made a collection of Rs 27 cr in two days of release.

The movie witnessed a stunning growth on the second day in comparison to the first day collections of Rs 12.25 cr. In the second day, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' earned Rs 14.75 cr.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it micro-blogging Twitter to share the box office reports of the movie.

He wrote, "#BadrinathKiDulhania shows growth on Sat... Eyes ₹ 43 cr [+/-] weekend... Fri 12.25 cr, Sat 14.75 cr. Total: ₹ 27 cr. India biz."

If the media reports are to be believed, BDK is expected to do an impressive business given that it is a festival weekend with Holi coming up on Monday.

Indeed, the stupendous collection has made it a happy Holy for Alia and Varun.

Produced by Karan Johar, the movie was released on 3000 screens across the country and has garnered strong word of mouth.

The movie happens to be the second instalment of 2014 release 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the lead.

Interestingly, BDK was Alia and Varun's third movie together after they made their debut with 2012 release 'Student Of The Year'.

Apparently, the makers are also in a mood to have a third instalment of the franchise.

"We do plan to make the third part in the "Dulhania" series. The first one got a lot of love from the audience and if the second one also gets that much love we shall make third part," Karna Johar was quoted saying in one of his interviews.

However, director Shashank Khaitan has clarified that there is no such story in place yet.

"We don't have a script in place for the third part. If the second one does well, then only we will make the third one," Shashank said.

Considering the appreciation 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is receiving, we wonder if the third part is coming up for Alia-Varun starrer.
